Webcam
To complete my laptop and always be on the cutting edge of technology, it was necessary to develop some facility for modern live- image transmission.
The easiest way to do this was to use a decent old camera, and update it to a colour video camera, able to transfer moving pictures onto the Æthernet. I installed four LEDs, as night-lights, and a microphone into the housing of an Agfa bellows camera. By using a cunning lens installation technique, I was able to employ the originals focus mechanism. This allowed me to overcome cumbersome focusing problems, like having to turn the focus ring in and out. I am particularly proud of this nifty little modification, even if only very few people are actually aware of it when they see it for the first time.
